Celery Juice Cleanse: Does It Really Work?

This post has been a highly requested one since I started the celery juice cleanse 2 weeks ago and I was just as curious as y’all are to know, does it really work? According to the Medical Medium, Anthony William, this is a magical healing drink so I tried it out to see for myself and wanted to give y’all the ins and outs of my experience so let’s start from the beginning.

I started by researching what the benefits were and watched a lot of YouTube videos of people doing the cleanse and about 99% of people said it worked, people were claiming their bloating went away, skin got clear, energy levels increased, etc. I started by just buying 3-4 bunches of celery, not organic just store bought regular celery and I didn’t have a juicer. People said to blend it and then strain it if you’re trying to do this with a blender so I thought, how hard can this be? I got up bright and early and rinsed and chopped the celery, however it didn’t blend. Nothing was happening at all and I was so frustrated. I added 1/4 cups of water, and that got it going. Its suggested to not add anything at all – not even water, so I was like great I reversed the effects already lol, but hey it blended. After blending you have to strain, this was the most tedious annoying task of all because there is SO much pulp y’all. & If you’re South Asian and know what a chai strainer is, that’s what I was using lmao. After about a 15 minute process I got half a cup of celery juice from 1 bunch and I took my first sip. It wasn’t too bad so I downed it and went on with my day. The first 3-4 days I did notice a change in digestion and my metabolism sped up the most.

I knew blending and straining was going to be daunting so I was considering just giving up the cleanse altogether but my sweet fiancé surprised me with a juicer and made my life 100x easier and motivated me to keep going. Since the process was SO easy after, I highly highly recommend getting a juicer if you’re doing any kind of juicing! I was going so strong on juicing everyday but then had a wedding in the middle of my 7 days and stopped for 2-3 days but I wanted to stick to this and follow through so  I decided to just restart the 7 day cleanse and this time I got some organic celery and some regular just to see if there was a difference in taste. Y’all, the organic celery was so good. The difference in the taste wasn’t massive, regular celery is bitter and not that pleasant to drink but organic celery is sweet and smooth and so pleasant to drink.  About 5 days in I switched to organic and by this time I was loving the juicing daily. It was what I looked forward to every morning and it took less than 10 minutes to prepare + drink.

What differences did I notice while juicing? I didn’t change my diet at all while juicing but my acid reflux went away which was honestly my main concern, bloating disappeared, digestion improved drastically, my skin was glowing and my skin tone was more even, my energy levels increased as I kept going day by day, and it’s known to reset the gut too and flush the toxins in your liver. I made my fiancé try it out and he noticed the days he drank it he didn’t have any acidity either. My dad is a diabetic and I made him start and he said he wanted to do this everyday too since he felt so good that day! I told my grandparents to drink it too, I recommend this to everyone now. The results are instant, it’s easy to prepare, and its literally 1 ingredient.

Will I stop now that it’s over? I don’t think I’ll ever stop celery juicing because it has truly made a massive difference and it’s not a huge lifestyle or diet change, it’s just a small addition. I don’t know if I’ll do it every single morning since I’ve been doing it for about 14 days, but I won’t ever hesitate to restart this or drink it every week. Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch organic (or not, upto you!) celery

Equipment:

  • Mueller Australia Juicer – linked below

Method:

  • Cut the celery in half pieces removing the head and the leaves (leaving the leaves on makes it more bitter)
  • Thoroughly rinse the celery with cold water
  • Juice the celery
  • Drink it and make sure to wait 15-30 minutes before having breakfast.
